The singer stepped out in Beverly Hills, California, on Friday wearing an all denim look for a long day of shopping.
While it was unlikely anyone would not recognise the superstar, Rihanna was clearly trying to have a Pretty Woman moment, wearing a ripped denim skirt as if in an attempt to look like she did not belong in the expensive stores of the famed Rodeo Drive.

But while Julia Roberts' prostitute character was turned away, Rihanna was welcomed into the top designer stores that line the famous street.
The 25-year-old visited Yves Saint Laurent and Valentino before heading to the more accessible stores of Bebe and Tiffany's.
The singer emerged from the jewelry retailer with one of their famous blue bags after picking out something small.

But what Rihanna really had her eye on was the exclusive jewels of Van Cleef & Arpels.
The Diamonds singer and her friend spent some time window shopping outside the French jeweler, perhaps eying off the bejeweled engagement rings now that she and on and off again boyfriend Brown are back together.
While she did not walk in the high price store, she would have been more than welcome despite her outfit's ripped denim overload.

For her shopping day, the Rude Boy singer wore a chambray shirt with rolled up sleeves that perfectly matched her high-waisted pencil skirt.
Her very late Nineties-style skirt was extremely distressed, ripped all the way along its hem and it also had a number of holes in both the front and the back.
One of the rips exposed the star's shapely bottom and gave those walking behind her a glimpse of her thong, but in true RiRi-style she strode with her head held up high happy to look controversial.

Her new love for denim is so strong that she even manged to find a snake skin wrap clutch that had been dyed the colour of jeans.
While she may have missed her mark with her clothing, the Barbadian beauty did perfectly blend street fashion and high fashion in her accessorising.
The 25-year-old donned a leather baseball cap with nude pointed pumps and two pearl Chanel brooches on her denim shirt. She also added a clear Chanel cuff and a leather and pearl bracelet by the same designer.
